2007-2008 Rec Coach of the Year - Eileen Uson - Federal Way Lady Hawks
From letters of recommendation... "As a parent of a cheerleader and as the team manager of the Federal Way Lady Hawks I have worked with Eileen side by side. I have seen her desire and determination to make our franchise one to be respected and to give our girls the tools to be their best on and off the field. R.A.V.E is our motto. Respect and value everyone. That is what she taught. I have seen more improvement in our program in the last two years that Eileen has been
director than in the 10 years I have been a part of the program. Her attitude is positive and outlook is fresh and new. She is always looking for ways to improve instead of dwelling on what went wrong. She never makes excuses. No DRAMA is her personal motto. We have gone from finishing last or not placing at all to 3rd place last year and winners of the spirit cup two years in a row. We have been honored by the city of Federal Way for our accomplishments and are finally getting the respect we deserve..... I admire her as a coach, mother and friend and can only hope that we are fortunate to have her around for many yearsto come."

He seeks to understand EVERY sport and athletic activity that falls under his jurisdiction and makes sure to recognize individuals and programs for jobs well done while also helping lead and guide them in new and evolving directions. He listens to his coaches and takes an active interest in their continued growth and the growth of their programs. He works hard to ensure he is helping his coaches positively represent RHS and the LWSD while also making it clear he believes in, trusts, and stands beside and behind them...."

2007-2008 All Star Coach of the Year - Lauren Walters - Galaxy

From letters of recommendation... She has a tremendous heart and is generous almost to a fault. She would do anything for the people in her life and gives unconditionally to those around her. Her ultimate goal is to see every life she has the opportunity to touch fulfill every goal. She does everything possible to ensure the kids she coaches are finding their ultimate potential, reaching beyond challenges and obstacles to find their greatest successes. She is a master at reading kids of all ages and finding the way to balance hard-work with fun in order to maximize their training potential. Lauren is the first one to congratulate someone else on a job well done and makes sure she takes the time to let everyone around her know how loved and appreciated they are which only make them want to work that much harder for her. What Lauren fails to realize, and what makes her one of the most humble people I will ever know, is that it is she WE all learn from, are inspired by every day, and strive to emulate in so many ways every day...."

2007-2008 School Coach of the Year - Dave Pilcher - Heritage High School

From letters of recommendation... " It is with great pleasure that I take this opportunity to write on behalf of Dave Pilcher. I hired Dave eight years ago when we opened Heritage High School in 1999. Dave was our first and only Head Cheer Coach. He started the program from scratch and has turned it into one of the most successful programs in the state. He has won 6 state titles, the most recent coming this past school year. He has had five girls who he had coached go on to become cheer coaches themselves, with three of them currently coaching in the Vancouver area. Dave has provided a middle school cheer camp every year he has been the coach at Heritage High School. He has cultivated a strong connection with his middle school feeder program. He presently supervises/coaches two different cheer seasons and three different level teams – freshmen, JV, and Varsity. Dave has also developed a very competitive level squad that competes actively every year. Dave is presently a rep for the Washington State Cheer Coaches Association (WSCCA). Dave is one of the coaches other coaches seem to go to when consulting on technical matters related to the sport. Dave is always willing to share and help other coaches. Dave had been out of the building as my cheer coach but had demonstrated to me early on that he was an extremely organized, energetic and passionate person..."

2007-2008 WSCJA Rookie Judge of the Year - Katy Richards

2007-2008 Assistant School Coach of the Year - Robin Gohn - Oak Harbor High School

From letters of recommendation..."We call Coach Gohn, Mama for a reason: for the gentle way she instructs us, yet holds us accountable; for the encouragement that she gives, while disciplining with a firm hand. The way she gathers us under her wings, yet prods us to leave the nest. She is kind hearted yet she knows how far to push us. She raised a cheerleader in her daughter Sarah and will continue to raise many more now and in the future."

"...we all know one person alone never develops and maintains a strong, lasting program; it takes a group of caring people to do this!  I have had the great fortune to have several assistants in my 18 years of coaching but none as wonderful and supportive as Robin Gohn, my assistant coach for eight years. She willingly does anything and everything for Oak Harbor Cheerleading and me.  It would take pages to tell you all that she has done.  She has a passion for cheerleading!  Needless to say, I would be lost without her.
