Hi Region Reps:

Pam and I must have had the same thought because I stared writing a wrap up yesterday and just didn’t get to finish it because of the craziness that is finals and the last days of school! I am sure you are all experiencing that this week. Attached are the documents we went over at the meeting as well as the master spreadsheet I have from 09-10 and the template for the data you collect for 10-11. Please put it in the exact form as the attached template – just use mine and do a “save as” so that I can directly copy the info into the master spreadsheet.

Important Deadlines
June 30th Divide region up and send me a list of who is covering what schools
August 31st Input information for your schools in the format attached for master spreadsheet
September 30th Send out Welcome Letters to Coach’s and AD’s

Regional Meetings WSCCA/WSCJA
We are asking that each region conduct a regional meeting in late August or September for two reasons: 1) to make face to face contact with coaches in your region and update them on anything that has come up over the summer and 2) to have the WSCJA present to educate coaches about competition for 10-11 and the new linear scale. So far we have the following meetings set up:

Region: Date: Location: Time:
Spokane Clinic August 29th Build It Athletix Noon
Region 2 September 9th The Ram – University Village 7pm

Region 1, 3, and 4 please contact me right away to set up your regional meeting time and region reps start getting the word out that we are having these.

That is all for now! Enjoy the sunshine this weekend!

Dear Board,
Please join me in congratulating Kathy Crowley and Jessii Stevens in their national awards. Kathy was awarded the Cheer Ltd Pinnacle Coaching of Excellence Award. Jessi has received National recognition by being awarded the Cheer LTD. Thirty Under Thirty Award!

The Pinnacle Awards for Coaching Excellence seek to identify and honor the most accomplished and professional coaches in the spirit industry. The selection committee will carefully study each nomination submitted and will recognize individuals who are responsible for significant coaching achievements and success in the spirit industry. A numbers of factors will be weighed, including but not limited to:

Size and scope of coaching responsibilities
Accomplishments over the entirety of coaching career
Particular achievements within the last 12-24 months
Creative and innovative coaching methods
Scope of influence within specific area of coaching expertise
Specific coaching results driven by the ideas, methods, and execution of the nominee, including team growth, former cheerleaders’ success, and other achievement criteria unique to nominee.
A successful candidate for a Pinnacle Award must be a leader within the coaching ranks of the spirit industry and the information must specifically address each of the above factors. Kathy was one of only 4 coaches recognized across the country. Way to go, Kathy!

The Thirty Under Thirty Awards seek to identify and honor the best up and coming young coaches under thirty years old in the spirit industry. Through a careful study of each nomination submitted the committee will recognize talented and innovative coaches who are under thirty. A numbers of factors will be weighed, including but not limited to

Size and scope of coaching responsibilities
Accomplishments early in her/his coaching career
Involvement in the industry
Creative and innovative coaching methods
Specific coaching results driven by the ideas, methods, and execution of the nominee, including team growth, former cheerleaders’ success, and other achievement criteria unique to nominee.
Jessii is one of 9 recipients from across the Nation, and the only recipient from Washington State! This is quite an accomplishment and we congratulate her!

This is a test.

I have attached the roster. Please check to see if it is correct. Also go online
http://www.wscca.com/RegionReps.html and check that I have you in the right board position. Let me know changes, please.

Also attached is the minutes from Sunday's meeting. One change and it is a big one ... the retreat will have to be June 27 from 9-4 because June 6 is Race for the Cure and many of us and our teams participate.

Also all this info is on this web page http://www.wscca.com/RegionRepUpdates.html

Don't forget your homework! (Hint... it is in the minutes)
